2007-2008 CEAT Student Council Executive Officers

 2007-2008 CFC Coordinators

The College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology (CEAT) Student Council's primary role is to act as a representative body for the students of CEAT and to enrich the college through its events and actions.

The CEAT Student Council acts as the umbrella organization for all groups classified under the college. In effect, the CEAT Student Council makes available AFAP funds offered to the college through the Rainy Day Fund. The CEAT Student Council typically doubles the amount of money in the Rainy Day Fund and makes it available to all recognized CEAT groups throughout the year.

Along with support of CEAT organizations through funding, the council provides many events for the enrichment of the college. Two of the largest events are the CEAT Career Fair and CEAT Week. The CEAT Career fair is the largest college career fair on campus, and the only one that is student organized. The Student Council has taken responsibility in making sure our CEAT students are looked at for jobs and internships by some of our nations leading companies. On the other end of the spectrum, CEAT Week is a "Celebrate Engineers Week" filled with games, events, and free food to ease some of the stress during the spring semester.

Finally, the CEAT Student Council has been expanding the reach of our college with the CEAT Freshman Council and the CEAT Ambassador Program. The CEAT Freshman Council is selected in the fall, and serves as a training and leadership tool to twenty of our college's aspiring freshmen. Our newest addition, the CEAT Ambassador Program, serves in the high school relations department by presenting some of the best our college has to offer to many prospective Cowboys.

The membership of the council consists of sixty members-at-large, numerous society/club representatives, two CEAT Ambassadors, and six executives that are elected within the council. Members-at-large are selected at the beginning of every semester by an application and interviewing process. Society/club representatives are granted when a society/club registers with the council. For more information on how to apply for a member-at-large position or society/club representative, please contact Denise Armstrong, VP Communication.
